"Badlands," finds its inspiration in the roots of the earth. These sculptures are created from plywood scraps salvaged from cabinet and furniture makers, that are sanded until smooth to create work that is deeply tactile. The resulting pieces, with their intuitively-designed organic forms, speak viscerally to the ecological roots of post-industrial woodworking processes, and serve as an arbitration of the lines between the built and the natural world. The arching structures seemingly grow out of the walls, spanning from floor-to-wall and wall-to-wall.
